Draft pending attorney review.
What we collect
- Your question text — automatically scrubbed of SSN/EIN/account/phone/email patterns before storage.
- An email address, only if you choose to provide one to ask more questions. It is remembered against your browser's cookie so you don't have to re-enter it. Used to deter abuse, to send you a link to your answer, and to follow up about your question. Not sold.
- Which description you pick at the email step (business owner, individual, or tax professional), if you choose to answer. Optional.
- A hashed (not raw) IP address and a browser cookie, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Feedback you submit on answers.
How questions are processed
Question text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API (our AI processor) to generate the answer, subject to Anthropic's data terms. Don't include personal identifiers in questions.
Publication
Approved Q&As appear publicly. We review and can edit or anonymize questions before publication; contact us to request removal of a published question you submitted.
Follow-up email and how to stop it
If you give us an email address, we may write to you once about the question you asked — a link to your answer and an offer to have a CPA look at your facts. We do not run newsletters or drip campaigns from this site, and we never send text messages. Every message identifies Hopkins CPA Firm P.C. and carries an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, before or after we write, at ask.hopkinscpa.tax/unsubscribe. Opting out does not limit your use of the site.
Retention & contact
Operational logs are kept only as long as needed for abuse prevention. Questions and answers are retained as library content. Contact: Hopkins CPA Firm P.C., 6262 Weber Rd STE 101, Corpus Christi, TX 78413.
